Attention Students! Help in OSU’s Latino Programming

The Center for the Study of Student Life is looking for students to share their experiences as a Latino/a student at Ohio State. Participation in the study will consist of an hour long interview. Following this interview we will email you a summary of our analysis to ensure we are interpreting your statements correctly, which should take you about thirty minutes to review. Your answers will be used for research purposes to help inform programming and future research.

Please email us back at Newhart.3@osu.edu to determine a time that will work for you for the interview.  All responses will be kept confidential, and no personally identifiable information will be collected.

Thank you,

Daniel Newhart, PhD

The curriculum is designed to stretch each student to become significantly more self-aware, to build upon their unique capabilities, to learn how to give, process, and receive feedback so that the invaluable lessons of both success and failure can be shared by each year’s cohort.

Check out this event HPA emailed us about!

Hepa Student Association and Indian American Association is having another bone marrow drive THIS Tuesday, and it would great if you could make it. The last time we had a drive, we were trying to help find a match for Amit Gupta, the founder of the “100thousand cheeks” campaign. He was diagnosed with acute leukemia, but he recently found a match! and only within a couple months of our marrow drive. This time, our drive is centered around Kyle, a 4 year old boy who has aplastic anemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.
To debunk any myths you may have about bone marrow transplants, here are just a few:
Bone marrow transplants are mostly non surgical. It is very similar to a blood donation. -It is not painful. There is some mild aching or soreness after donating, but it only lasts for a few days.
The restrictions for donating marrow are NOT the same as for donating blood. -Donating bone marrow is ANONYMOUS. Not even the recipient of the bone marrow will know who the donor is.
The bone marrow drive on Tuesday consists of giving ONLY a CHEEK SWAB. The sample goes into the national registry for 60 years until you are possibly a match for someone.
Info for drive:
When: Tuesday, March 6th from 12-6pm
Where: Union lobby in front of the great hall meeting rooms
How: sign up through: http://www.mixandmatch2012.eventbrite.com/. There are 1 hour time slots but the entire process takes about 15 minutes :) OR just stop by!
WHY: Because YOU could save a life.
